For Free Comic Book Day 2010, West Palm Beach superstore Past Present Future Comics and Games healed a spectacular event that brought out a huge crowd. Not only did they hand out FIVE free comics to everyone who came into the store, not only did they have a store wide 20% off sale, not only did they 49 cent back issue bins (100 for $29.99 or a long box for $69.99), not only did they have costumed characters throughout the day but they also had a "mini-indy-con" in the back section of the store.

We were there for the duration of the event promoting our new mini-series "Souled" with a FCBD exclusive book "The Making of Souled". Not only could people pick up a copy but author Christopher Faulkner and artist Aric Hutfles were on hand to sign them. Also in attendance - Shannon Vokes (who had a FCBD book as well - "SleepRunners: Conflicted"), Ka-Blam Digital Printing, What the Flux Comics and artist Manny Aguilera.

It was a great event and we truly grateful to  Mark and the staff at Past Present Future for hosting us. We are already looking forward to returning next year.

Past Present Future Comics and Games - serving South Florida for more than 20 years. 2010 was their biggest Free Comic Book Day event to date - with a storewide sale and a mini-indy-con.
The moment the doors opened the store was flooded with people.

Extra help was brought in to handle the free comics (FIVE per-customer).
There was a line at the register all day long.
But people weren't just coming for free stuff they found comics, games and toys all on sale.
In the back section of the store (normally used for gaming) we were set up in what was essentially a mini-indy-con. Here Chris Faulkner and Aric Hutfles are explaining the concept behind our new series "Souled".
Chris took some time out to talk to a fellow writer about the craft.
Shannon Vokes and his son Avery were on hand promoting "SleepRunners".
Artist Manny Aguilera said that he had a better day at Free Comic Book Day than he has on Sundays at some conventions.
Larry Jarrell, Jeramy Hobbs and Zach (Decisions) Bassett from Orlando based What the Flux Comics made the trip down.
As the day went along - more and more people continued to come for their free comics and to experience the store.
We handed out well over 100 copies of our Free Comic Book Day Book - "The Making of Souled"
You are never too young to start reading comics ...
As the day came to a close it was clear that Free Comic Book Day at Past Present Future was a success for all.
