Zach Bassett grew up in Colorado, drawing, writing, and reading comics with his friends. While in high school, he got his start doing illustrations for local magazines, before earning his BFA, in the sequential art program, from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). There, he also landed his first published sequential art work, in their annual anthology.

Since then, Zach has gotten married to his college sweetheart and done work for companies such as, 215 Ink, Faber Castell, What the Flux Media, Mortal World Entertainment and various small-press publishers. He often signs his work with the pseudonym XaqBazit, and recently returned to Colorado, where he teaches Graphic Storytelling at the Community College of Aurora (CCA) and lives with his beautiful wife, two cats and dog.

Zach has recently finished a project for 215 Ink entitled No West to Cross - a review of this book can be found - HERE. Zach is also working with Bluewater Productions penciling comics about Cher and Stephen Hawking, and recently finished working on a Bill Gates project written by Cosmic Times publisher Martin T. Pierro.

In the past Zach has worked as a  fill-in inker on Assassin's Guild #4 from Knightshift Entertainment and has worked as a penciler and inker for What the Flux Comics on various projects including their flagship book Concrete Dove. He also worked with Souled inker James Whynot on a project for Face Palm Comics entitled Entity.
